MAXIM ROY \u2013 <\/strong>BIO <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Roy began her acting career performing in theatre. Her big break came when she landed a lead role in the television series, AU NOM DU P\u00c8RE ET DU FILS<\/strong> <\/em>and LE SORCIER  <\/strong>based on the best selling novels. She then leaped into feature films starring in the comedy, (Golden Reel \/ CSA winner)<\/em>, LES BOYS<\/strong>, making Roy a Canadian star. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Roy has always managed to navigate between American, Canadian and European television and films. With 35 films under her belt, she considers herself lucky to have worked with renowned directors such as Denys Arcand at the beginning of her career. She reunited with the Oscar winner in his latest feature, THE FALL OF THE AMERICAN EMPIRE<\/strong>. Recently, she appeared in Roland Emmerich\u2019s latest epic feature, <\/em>MOONFALL<\/strong>, in which she played the US Navy Captain, \u2018Gabriella Auclair\u2019 alongside Halle Berry and Patrick Wilson. In the Festival circuit, Roy collected best actress awards<\/em> and international acclaim for her performance in the short film, WICHITA.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

On television, Roy has starred in award-winning and internationally renowned series including: SHADOWHUNTERS <\/strong>(Freeform\/Netflix), BAD BLOOD <\/strong>(Netflix, CSA Best Actress nomination), <\/em>OCTOBER FACTION <\/strong>(Netflix), <\/em>MIRAGE <\/strong>(<\/em>France2, ZDF, Crave), <\/em>REGENESIS <\/strong>(Amazon), MVP <\/strong>(ABC,) SUPERSTORM <\/strong>(BBC) DEFYING GRAVITY <\/strong>(ABC, CTV, BBC and ProSieben) HEARTLAND <\/strong>(CBC) and19-2 <\/strong>(Bravo-CTV-CRAVE and CSA nomination for \u201cBest Performance by an Actress in a Featured Supporting Role<\/em>\u201d).  For 4 years, she won French Canadian\u2019s hearts as Kathleen O\u2019Hara in TVA\u2019s hugely popular series, O\u2019 <\/strong>which garnered her 4 G\u00e9meaux Best actress nominations<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Roy\u2019s diverse filmography exemplifies the versatility she has as a performer. This skill has enabled her to play characters that are both colourful and memorable. Sharing the screen with high calibre actors such as Evan-Rachel Wood, John Cusack, Matthew Modine, Kim Coates, Isabella Rossilini and Nastassja Kinski among others. Roy has always strived to better her craft; \u201cI want to be challenged\u201d is her modus operandi. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

In one year alone, she lit up the silver screen in six feature films and was nominated for an Iris (Quebec Oscars) for best supporting actress in the indie-film<\/em>, ADAM’S WALL <\/strong>She starred alongside French Star Sandrine Kiberlain in the comedy, ROMAINE AT-30<\/strong>; <\/em>in the critically acclaimed indie BLIND SPOT<\/strong>, <\/em>in which she generated rave reviews for her performance; in Robert M\u00e9nard’s drama RESTE AVEC MOI; <\/strong>in Emmy award winner Yves Simoneau\u2019s comedy, L\u2019APP\u00c2T<\/strong>; <\/em>and alongside John Cusack in THE FACTORY<\/strong>. <\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Last Spring she was back on the small screen, leading in PARIS PARIS 2<\/strong> and as Jill in the international cult hit, SHORESY. <\/strong> This Fall, she\u2019s back on the Quebec scene in the series INDEFENDABLE<\/strong> and in the Indie film TIGHT LETTUCE.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Maxim Roy was named one of \u201cCanada’s 25 Most Beautiful Stars\u201d by Star! TV. Star! TV selects stars based on their personality, national success and popularity. The paper ICI Montreal, also named Roy the \u201cSexiest and Most Popular\u201d actress. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

In her free time, Roy is: a godmother to the organization ANEB, a non-profit that fights anorexia- bulimia; has been a member of GREENPEACE for 16 years; and devoted 15 years to DECLIC, a non-profit organization that brings kids back to school. She supports anything and everything \u2018environmentally friendly\u2019 and has recently lent her voice to WORLD VISION.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
